I understand when 10 year olds have ''downhill bikes'' but I think this invention is somewhat useless. Does a 5 year old need disc brakes and and a fork? No. All they need is a bike with two wheels that is functioning. My little brother had a regular bike until he reached 8 years old, then he bought a bmx to improve his skill, and finally at 10 years old he now has a DH bike. Its all about progression. Check out this shot of him bmxing (when he was 9)http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/2415535/
I still beleive in "you gotta earn your turns!" phrase. But its kind of cool bike. Just a fun project for the builders / designers. Eric---0 i do agree with you though.
the only problem i see with the bike is that the long cage derailer is about 3 inches off the ground. i give that one ride. other then that SICK BIKE wish i had something like that when i was a kid
