This is totally possible. The same sorta accident happened to my Uncle while he was riding a motorcycle in 1981... It healed after 23 surgeries and finally stopped oozing puss in 2006... Yeah... that's right... 25 years later... He had a metal rod go through his left leg and destroyed both bones in his shin. His left leg is 3 inches shorter than the right because the steel rod was just over 2" thick.
He didn't bleed until the steel rod was removed from his leg, then the blood flowed like Niagara Falls. He died for about 5 minutes from blood loss. Almost 30 years later, 9 near death experiences and Thousands of hours suffering in Physiotherapy and through other treatments... He still rides a mountain bike and a motorcycle...
My Uncle is a my idol because he is a tougher man than anyone I have ever met.
that is real, if you look closely you can see his foot is further forward than his shinbone, this is because the branch snapped the shinbone, moving the bottom half of his leg forward but keeping the top in place.
If that's aimed at me, then I'd just like to point out that I never mentioned swelling. I merely mused that if there were that much wood inside of his flesh, it would displace it. Unless of course, the stick took the easy route through the nice soft bone, instead of the hard unmalleable muscle and fat tissues. Is that what you are suggesting? Because it's a radical proposal.
either that was sarcasm or your a bit silly! you said that mucle and fat tissue is harder than bone? possibly the funniest thing ive heard in a while. Bone is dense stuff
"Apparently there may have been a line of riders, maybe 6 - 10 riders, two abreast, going approximately 25 mph, and the rider’s bike in front of him kicked up a branch, and you can see the results. The branch did not have a spear point at the end that went through his leg. That is why it broke his bone..."
