from what to what did you change here?
because i need to change from 25.4 to 27.2 very soon...
and i have those shims.

This will be way too big. Shims are a common item that you should be able to find online. I got mine from Dan's Comp, but I don't know it that helps. This would be way too thick for 25.4-27.2 (I have that shim and it is very thin).

ah thought so i'm thinking just cut up a coke can or two because from my usually accurate calculations it only has to be about 2mm think. but i did do this calculation while standing in the shower...

That's where all the best math happens. Wire on some pop cans and file accordingly. Cheers.

Edit: If you have access to a grinder, use my above idea.

yeah, not sure on the wire part. might just fold a little lip over the top of the seat tube to keep it in place

Wire means you won't lose it in your frame. Sucks to have to fish out ghetto shims when they fail.

The front of my bike is about to get a serious diet. It will be losing about a pound and a half!! Ye son!!

 how?????
i need to do that!
but i not sure i can swop forks... i am too much of a hack. i already bent my argyles stanchions.
i'm right jealous.

my back end is so light!
my hub is like 200g without freewheel, with a 140mm rotor that has less braking surface than should be legal.
rims are like 40 grams heavier than the cream of the weight weenie rims, the 721's
it's gona be way light now. and my front end just goes umpf!

Argyles are heavy. Mine porked the front of my bike out badly. My fox will be nice and light and I will have a backup Argyle for rough days. Wink
