"Marzocchi has learned that after a forceful landing, the suspension system can become completely compressed and 'bottom out.' The piston rod may collapse under the load of the landing. The collapsed piston rod prevents the suspension system from extending and returning to its original configuration. The fork spring will remain compressed inside the fork leg."

there is really no need for everybody to get pissy over this, at least the sent out the recall and they are replacing the fork
  • 10
 glad i don't ride a marzocchi 2008 any more,biggest waste of money i did on a marzocchi 888
  • 20
glad i bought your fork for E50 and replaced an O-ring and rode Morzine all week without a problem. So no waste of my money!
  • 10
great to hear that the fork worked well for you,50 euro was a great deal for you
  • 20
 hate when that happens
  • 64
didn't that happen to a kid on the first Kelso race? thats marzocchi for you. don't see that happening to RS or even Manitou.
  • 122
Because there haven'y been any problems with the new Boxxers, Right?
  • 33
Well at least not so much as to being this catastrophic.
  • 30
my lbs has a photo of this
  • 01
 ...........
  • 21
I'm guessing they don't deal 'zoc and this photo is to remind them why.
  • 60
so you lowered your fork eh?
  • 31
Al Capone, no matter how much crap you talk about Rock Shox, it wont make Marzocchi any less shittier. Accept that.
  • 11
I'm not saying that marzo doesn't have QC issues, but holy shit, people seem to go crazy over the new boxxers, but RS shipped a lot of them with no oil. Really RS? Also, I heard something along the lines of an adjustment rod snapping off on a few.
  • 41
I think youre just upset that you have a marzo on your stinky. Marzo, Kona, and its SS? Id be upset to (:
  • 21
 You heard something,
Well I would like to see something,
Yeah people go crazy over them, for a reason, why don't people go crazy for 'zoc ?
There's a reason for that.
Also I have had some buds warranty their forks but they we're returned with a note " We do not warranty this fork because your dirt jumped with it and it cracked, we know that you dirt jumpers are hard on bikes and that is why we refuse to process this fork through warranty" and not too long ago the same dude now a weigth weenie bought a 426 revelation and the company clearly knew that he dirt jumped the fork and the fork is meeant for XC but the company went through and replaced his entire fork.

Is fork oil really that expensive although it is an error they must have compensated.
  • 22
Yep. Because I have absolutely no control of what I run. You hit the nail on the head. I could nave gotten an SX trail or an Endure, or 7point, or BigShit, but I didn't like them. I like what I run. SS is actually great. You should honestly try it sometime. It makes you a lot stronger. Eventually I'm going to have 2 drivetrain setups. One SS, one geared.
  • 31
I run SS on my street bike, where it belongs. If youre really worried about getting stronger, you should really look elsewhere instead of running SS on a freeride bike... Its called the gym.
  • 42
Touche chasefreeride37, Times two, Good job ! I wish recklessness was here.
  • 22
I don't like gyms. You have to focus on pretty much one thing at a time. It gets boring IMO. As I said, my setup works for me. Yours works for you. And to CCK, Marzo must have been on crack when they received the warranty claims. They warrantied my friends fork that he DJed on. As for the oil, it's not really about the oil. How could they ship the fork with no oil, and to small of an O-ring (Which caused the oil loss). You're paying top dollar, so it should be better. Same with the new Marzo. 09's are supposed to be fixed though.
  • 21
CCK, clever what made you realize ?
Well them being on crack does not substitute for they're horrible warranty and products.
You pay top dollar for not so good products, if your paying so much for so little wouldn't you expect better than this or maybe those shit bushings marzocchi has ?
The forks that had no oil and smaller o-rings than required we're replaced at no charge.
  • 31
You dont like gyms because you have to focus on one thing at a time? Please dont try to explain something that you obviously know nothing about. Thats a horrible excuse.
  • 11
I have worked out many times. I don't like it for the reasons I stated. Think what you like. CCK: lol Seriously, you are making me loose IQ points. Please, shut up before I become brain dead.
  • 11
an o-ring and oil takes all of maybe 30 minutes at most to do. its not the biggest deal in the world. you can still ride the fork and its super easy to fix; anyone who owns a fork that high end should know anyway how to do it. RS realized what happened and they fixed the problem. all the new Boxxers should not have the problem anymore. as far as an entire rebound failing thats another story. you can't fix it, you have to send it back to Marzocchi and hope that they will warranty it. The 888 is already a brick to begin with that doesn't perform that well.
  • 20
Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has them, and they all stink. Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
