It still depends. For example, I'm smooth and couldn't pinch if I tried, I rarely cut sidewalls either. So for me not only could I race DH on them, I could train on them and use them for at least half a seasons worth of uplifts and races.
However, under some they wouldn't last the stretch of a short hill.
