you have no idea how green ive jus turned. im sooo jelouse. one of the nicest cadds ive ever seen and theeee nicest curtis build ive ever seen. and they are both urs. you lucky man.

Yeah your correct. All caddys are fwd unless someone has spent a massive amount of time converting it to rwd. 1.6 diesel or 1.8petrol are the common engines you see. And although they are based on a mk1 gold from the b pillar forward they have a unique chassis to the caddy! Amazing little trucks!

 What is this truck ?
  • 3 0
VW caddy matey.. its not really a truck, and its slammed
  • 3 1
I would call it a miniature Euro version of a Chevy El Camino....
  • 3 2
 nothing like one
  • 4 1
I mean the concept...taking a car and giving it a truck bed in the back Razz

Obviously not the same. VW is fwd if I am not mistaken? camino being a muscle "truck/car"...rwd v8. different handling, weight distribution etc...

I simply meant the looks and original building concept by the parent company.

 doubledeuce has this right.

The caddy is a rear wheel drive I think dude, they are gorgeous too
  • 1 0
You sure? I am pretty certain (though could be wrong) they were based on the Rabbit chassis, hence the same engine layout (FWD 1.8 liter or the diesel, depending on the model)
  • 1 0
Ok I am now 100% sure I am correct. It was built on the A1 platform, shared with the Rabbit, Scirocco (mk 1 and II), Jetta (mk1), and the cabrio. So it is 100% FWD, not RWD. (unless someone converted it toa RWD platform via a franken-swap)
