And I see RP on rear. What is travel now? (with FOX VAN R I have 160/150 - AMII) Does it work smoothly?
I am just starting more gravity riding and wondering how much the frame will hold and what upgreades are a must. Propably chainguide and some better crank. Fork and wheels for shure...
The air shock works well, but i think it would be better with coil, or maybe a PUSH tuned air shock that suits the bike. New forks would be a great upgrade if you wanted a more gravity orientated bike. Some 66s or Lyriks. Dont go over 160mm of travel though.
The frame is suprisingly robust. Obviously it has limits but it'll put up with a lot. Wheels are a good upgrade, some Mavics or DT Swiss rims are a good place to start, then Pro 2s or Halo Spin docotrs seem to be a standard hub to go with (Or go NS as they're polish too, i think..).
Cranks should be okay. Don't fix them till they're broken i guess is the motto there. Chainguide is very much what you like the look of, they all do the same job at the same price.
Yeah, I think those frames are designed for explicite travel - and it is all measured and math covered, so going over frame travel is a bad idea - crash and even...
Maybe some 66s just with less trevel (service made). What do You think about 55s ?
Yeah, factory singletrack wheels are well... just a start. But I think for some moderate freeride so upgread will be needed in future.
I think for more DH/FR I will have to get another bike, but still with Horst Link... it rox.
The cranks are Truvative Blaze... but I think change will occure when I brok tem. Changing FD to chainguide is something what I have in mind for sometime... for example to Truvative BoxGuide or something like that.
I have Norco Six Three'07 with All Mountain II and thinking about some for upgreade in near future.
