but it seems a tiny bit of water would be alot better and with less effort..if you use very little clean water it will dry up quick and your good to go ..and to take off just insert screw driver between grip and bar pour a bit of water between ..remove screw driver and turn grip once to lube with water and it will pop right off ...thats all i ever use to put on and off grips ...water it the cheapest and best way to do the job
tip ties takes seconds to do and its not hard to get them off, i have put mine on dry like this and ride my xc bike in the rain here in the uk most days, no throttle grip
ya i tried that tie wrap method a while ago before and found it not working as well as i hoped for a set of race face good n evel grips i had ..and i in the end i used water ...and yes zip tie the end of the grip like a anti lock grip works great i agree with that 100% and good for BMX and street colored grips ..but for DH i just buy the real ODI lock-on grips ...there only $20 a set and will work and last longer..and are more reliable to stay locked ...lol some times you can't even unlock them...i have had to cut a few sets of ODi lock-ons off cause there were stuck locked-on...and they would not come off when i wanted to change them
yes i do know that !!!!
and still i say water works better cause i have tried the trick with the ties and find its much more work for nothing...a few drops of wather on the inside of the grip and it will slide on like butter no extra work and just wait a few mins for it to dry and its ready to lock
also all i was just saying that if you don't have a lock on type grip that tie wraps do make a good lock for the non locking hand grips grips
why not it drys out.. if you don't use a lot of water ..or just even good old spit works wonders lol..but yuk..i prefer water over spit any day.. ..with no harm whats so ever..it's water ..you just turn the grip a few times to help it dry once it is you just tighten up the bolts ...the tie wraps are a good idea i don't disagree ..i just found it a lot of work to remove the tie wraps after i had gotten the grip on the bar..so it does for sure work but i just say use a tiny bit of water for lube and it will go on alot easier ..but thats just my opinion every one is dif ..and i gave that a try and will stick with what i know works for me ..i don't see any thing wrong with either ways ..and especially don't see anything wrong with using water to put on a hand grip on ..as long as you let it sit and dry ..
