 you should be able to visibly notice slack in a chain with no tensioners unless it is run compeltely vertical in whcih case youde run the chain tight but nobody runs chains vertically, or too tight...unless yous a sucka lol just trust me dude any single speed should show visible slack or youll wreck your chain and chainring and sprocket

 just because it looks tight doesnt mean it is.
