I am official photographer of this picture and it is 100% real, sam is a factory wildman and came into it full moto (hence the footout) got so low that he scrapped his elbow and rode it out. Pinkbike is not a site where one should mess around, it is only for professional bikers to share there very professional real photos.
Tear-off is not being pushed back and would be if he had any speed he is pulling both brakes angle of front wheel means he would shoot off the top of the berm fork isnt compressed and he is leaning of the front with the front brake on
As a professional photographer you would have know this photo would be subject to this amount of hatin' and would most likely make a video for proof of said balla' status so where's the vid?
If you hit a burm as fast as you would have to to get that low, and your weight was over your rear wheel, your fork most likely wouldnt compress, and if it did, it would only be about 20mm. thats why i think its real. why i think its fake tho, is because there is no roost behind his front tire, and even when rolling in a straight line it will leave marks/roost. so im not sure whether its real or not. if it is, mega props, if it isnt, pretty well faked.
cant believe all these arguments people have started up, i dont think its fake, it looks like forks arnt compressed cos all weight is over back end. but it does look like ur gonna fall haha so fair play to you if you held it pal.
back end was drifting out hence the tyre direction, he is actually travel more up the berm, fork is not compressed as the bike is sliding with the weight over the back wheel.
People are so toutchy... Sam, its real to you cuz you did it and rode it out.. People who thinks its fake, well.. they think its fake and thats them.. I say props for getting a great looking high energy shot!... Real or not.
his rear break leaver as you can see is fully pressed yet there is no dust coming up the back so must be fake but only two people will ever know for real
ya seriously that actually could be legit i mean his right foot isn't at angle with the berm which means it's most likely on the pedal. Even if his elbow is resting on the ground, I don't think you could stay balanced with your left foot in the air
not really, when the back end is sliding out like that the force on the fork isn't even that great, especially in the position he is in, if you think about the angle of the fork the rider's weight isn't going to do anything to compress it due to gravity, only cornering force will do it, and due to sliding up the bank there wasn't much force anyway.
