Beautiful Gary m8,that's an absolutley mint build.Loving the Jedi frame,i'll bet that's built into a pretty light bike, cos if i remember rightly, when i first saw the Jedi advertised it said it was only 8 lbs and a bit, with shock,it's surely sub 40 lbs.Am i far off with that guess Gary. Not that i'm too bothered about weight in general,it's just with the frame & shock weight in mind, and your choice of components it loox to be quite light for an out and out rock garden rig.
The Renthal bar and stem all present and correct,ha-ha.I love the look of that stem,is it as good as it loox m8.
Anyway good to hear from ya Gary, congrats on the new rig.

Cheers Gary! It weighs somewhere around 39lbs at a guess, the frame is 8lbs 'without' shock so it's more like 10lbs with shock. I'll be getting a titanium spring for it, they have a much nicer feel, less 'springy'! It could be made lighter but it's always function first for me, if it happens to be light and/or pretty as well then that's a bonus (just like women!)
The stem is super light but does have a tiny bit more flex than I'm used to but you only notice it when you're looking for it. I'll be too busy shitting myself because of how fast I can hit rock gardens! I've only rode it in the car park but flat out into curbs (a thing that the Mr. Big was good at but this is in another league) it does not alter it's speed or composure one bit. Stunning. So far, it more than lives up to the hype.

What's the deal with the chain I'v never seen anything like that before
  • 1 0
The suspension's designed so that the axle moves back before it moves up if the chain pulled from the chainring in the normal way it would stretch and work against the suspension. Having the chain idler wheel mounted high means that pedaling won't interfere with the suspension movement.

It's just this photo. It makes it look way steeper than it is.

Are my tired eye's playing tricks on me, what's the head angle on this as it looks a bit on the steep side.

It's a trick of the light and hillock the bike was sitting on. It's 65 degrees, not actually as steep as it looks in this shot.
