 I feel sorry for you but this is just funny! I sometime also try to see how far thins can go. Like while straightening a derailleur hanger and SNAP. Also when tighening a brake banjo, trying to get a last turn and SNAP.

 that web is really quite thin and you have some much leverage with the long tubes. I have compressed my 66 under the same cond. never do that again. they did change the web in 08.
