they look good, but fuck, my old blue chevy had them, i got so tired of them that i just took the right side off and put a stocker on it to change oil.

I'm still confused as to how you had trouble getting oil into them.

baffle openings, they drip the 5 quartz of oil into them, which you will find out.

it certainly appears that removing the rubber grommets would be greatly beneficial to the filling process and I could see it being an issue without doing so, but once you yank them out theres a decent amount of room in there.

tried that too, still was a bitch to do.

Interesting, guess I'll just have to duke it out from time to time.

What makes you say that? Because of the baffle?

 Very nice,but what is a 383.

i believe it is a chevy 350 block with a crank out of a 400, there are some smaller things done (the crank itself is machined) but its basically an awesome monster!

 Ah thank's.

It's what you get when you let rednecks build motors.
That's legit too, the 383 was "invented" by rednecks to build mud trucks, I saw something on speed channel about it.

Haha, thats a good one "when you let red necks build motors". Just so happens I've got a bit of red neck in me. You are correct in saying its a 350 block with a 400 crank, the crank is slightly altered and the block has to be clearanced slightly to make room for the larger radius that the journals follow with each rotation. The ends of the rods catch the block if you dont. Pretty simple conversion, everything more or less just drops rite in.

crank is not altered one bit, block is has clearances ground out for a larger stroke, which you are on the dot with.
