oh, i'm gettin the same fork and wheels, how did you get this one so light?
  • 1 0
The wheels are pretty light, then I started out with minion exo tires- which were not usable I found out. Those rotors are much lighter than Avids, pedals are also very light but fragile (The plates bend if you hit something really hard but since they come completely apart I could always straighten the plates and reassemble.) Then those grips are light as is the seat an post.

After scrapping the tires and grips then adding some black ops pedals and a 2011 boxxer wc it moved the weight up to 36.1

what kind of grips and rotors?
  • 1 0
Grips were ESI chunky silicon- 60g a pair, but they bottom out on the bar on really hard impacts. Rotors are Ashima available through J+B importers. I bought a pair after chatting with the designer at interbike last year and I will never go back to regular rotors. Just 113grams for a 185 and they are half the price and run cooler. But they will chew a resin pad up pretty quick so I recommend only running semi-metallic

what do you mean the grips will bottom out on the bars
  • 1 0
their made of a silicon foam and they are not really meat for dh use so when you hit really hard you hand litterally feel the bar, as if the grip wasn't there. They fully compress and you bottom out the like 1/4" of grip travel

older boxxer works much better than new :-)

 ho do you figure?

Maybe he means the colors work better with the frame color?

Id have to agree, but, the 2010 boxxers just look better, and perform better overall.

As a mechanic who has worked on several of both the older style ones are better in my opinion. They are jut way simpler abd easier to work with

 o really thats intresting

And, by perform, i mean dont flex like a noodle.

I've ridden 32mm, 35,mm boxxers and a 40 and honestly I don't thing any of them are flexy at all, at least I don't notice

Lol I don't know. I think it's pretty cool for a patriotic person.
