How much would a build like this cost? They look amazing! Would be awesome to have one as a get about bike, for when I was at uni or something! Soo clean and looks light! Do many people use them for riding around towns? Or mainly track bikes?

www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/37053/Bianchi_Pista_Steel_SingleSpeed_Bike_2011 - £550 the cheapest version of the pictured bike I could find. This one pictured is a concept Razz

You can build a cheap fixie which is just as good from an old road frame with the same drop outs as my Viking (www.pinkbike.com/photo/7064705) 1st dropout shown.

If you have the cash to splash and want to buy a standard, new fixed gear, best ask the experts on Fixed Gear Advice & Discussion Salute

Wow sweet! Thanks for the awesome reply! tup

I really like this one as it's very clean, plus it has the 1 1/8th steerer. But yeah, I made a fixie out of an old frame, was brilliant but needs a new wheel as the axle bends whenever I pedal! lol it's that cheap! lol!

Would be a thing for uni or something, to get about town and what no! Smile

It would, but if you lock it up outdoors, you'll need a good piece of security. It's a Bianchi after all and thieves know they're worth a lot of money, so if you can keep it in doors in Uni, that'd be a better option for you. You know, for a price of that Bianchi Pista, you could get a half decent road bike too Razz

Plus it's a track bike and doesn't have brakes, so you would have to 100% rely on your legs to brake!!

You can get cheaper fixed gears with brakes too. So it all depends on what you want to pay for. But if I was gonna spend £550, I might as well by a Specialized Allez road bike or the like..

Yeaah, I guess it would probably get nicked, bikes that are worth f*ck all get parts ripped of them. There is a frame and cranks sitting in a square in my town, funny just been pulled to bits and i'ts utter shite! lol

Yeah, that could be a bit dodgy for about town. Sweet, well I will look into it in the future, cheers for da' info! Razz Salute

smart bike - road or track use? I used to race track myself so it caught my eye!

More of a road bike but it wouldn't do bad on a track.
  • 11
Isn't it is more of a track bike that wouldn't do bad on a road?

You're most likely correct more than me tup
