hey jared phye chill out he is probaly only learning how to ride. give him a break because everyohne has to start out somewhere. i'm only 5'1 and i don't think anyone my size needs 9 inches of travel. try more like 6 inches that would work well.

 well im 6"3 and wiegh in at 182 pounds and i have devinci with only like 6 inches of travel , and it works good for me but i dont do 30 foot drops , more along the lines of 15.
