Humm, tire clearance looks limited. Your Swampthings have very little clearance and I know those tires are narrow (the 2.5" are actually 2.3") I'm gonna have to check out the bike in person but it looks like I won't be getting a Status anytime soon (I run a rear 2.8"x24" tire).
Well I've never used 24" wheels, so I've no idea, but even considering Maxxis tires being relatively narrow, there shouldn't be any problem running any 26x2,5 (schwalbe or so, something that actually has the claimed size). So with 24" wheels it shouldn't be a problem at all, or am I mistaken? I'm not planning using anything other than Maxxis, so I'm not really worried 'cos I've yet to see actually fat tire from them, but I don't really think there's not enough space.
Looking at it now, there's fair 1cm space around the tire in the narrowest place.
Well I run a big old 24" rear tire which comes out to 2.8 and it has a diameter of a small XC tire so usually I have no problem fitting it in DH frames. However, I gotta be sure because I dont plan on going to a 26" rear wheel anytime soon (I prefer a rear 24" since it is lighter, more agile and allows me to run a bigger tire without the weight penalty). You photos didnt look that clear but 1cm on either side sound more than enough. Thanks.
They're commonly being sold here in CZE, I guess if they don't ship frames only to UK, the only way is to travel a bit, or buy the Status 1 and sell components..which could possibly cost even less afterall.
