Weak? no. But theoretically may not be as strong. However, you could consider the sealing plate the brace. If so, that in addition to the 83mm wide double thick bb, im not worried about anything.
there's another way too if you really think the brace is important: Super tall chainstays that go over the bb and connect to the dt.
But also think of it this way: the brace has traditionally been used on chainstays with an s bend to clear the chainring. Push the bb into the ground with the bike laid over almost flat. the whole bike bows with the apex at the bb. The chainstay closer to the ground will want to straighten out like a half link plate. The one closer to you will want to fold up like an accordian. The result is the chainstays touch at the s bend when they fail; but if a brace is present, it will balance the two forces until it just can't take anymore.
If the chainstays have only one u shaped continuous bend, or are basically perpendicular to the BB, then there is no extra curve to fold up. And no need for a brace.
