It was a reluctant win for Luna's Catharine Pendrel: Georgia Gould had led the entire race, but flatted with next to nothing left, and was subsequently passed by a sprinting Pendrel and teammate Katerina Nash. It was a win Pendrel didn't want; in the eyes of the Luna team and all the fans, Gould won this race, even though the record books will have her in third.
