nhp890 - please think wisely... These cracks were hardly to see with an naked eye (magnifying glass was needed after paint was removed) Size of both MICRO cracks was approximately ~(1mm wide (horizontaly) & ~1/10mm high (verticaly) That my Bro is - micro.
To me MACRO (as You said) are that kind of cracks:
these are not macro cracks. they're not even cracks, as the material is split in half. A micro crack is the one you can't see. If it's visible - it's not micro anymore.
OK nhp890 - You right - I did it purposely to check Your vigilance when I've puted these few photos of BROKEN parts... But these two cracks were micro (magnifying glass was needed) and please DON't say that microscope is needed to name these small cracks a "micro" - please don't be so literal.... This is a >bicycle business... not a stictly scientific material/metallurgic industry - OK?
A micro one is not visible with no magnifying equipment (eg. microscope, magnifying glass), otherwise it might be just a "small crack". Case closed, agreed on that.
But yes - it had two micro-cracks (both no more than ~1mm)
