you spent more on shiny bits than you would have on the (quite significant) weight and adjustability upgrade to XT, and you still don't have a rotor.

I have a bunch of rotors in my garage. I might upgrade to XT one day. Time will tell.

do you have contact adjustment in there too?

 Just get SLXs at least...

 Derek, on the caliper?

xt's are lighter and have throw/contact adjustment on the lever.

I've never felt the need for contact adjustment. Whatever, it's just a street bike. All I need is a brake that stops me. XT could be a future upgrade but it's not necessary at this point. Salute

Is this the same crc that i would use or different as they dont have carbon hose in stock to me?
Good to see the goodridge stuff. Dont forget to follow the instructions. I rarely see it doen right.

That's what I thought at first, but Draggon directed me to this link which I didn't see at first.

www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=2938

Also, I'll probably get a shop to do the hose swap. It seems intimidating.

Oh its there now! Odd. Says it was in stock until march so i just got the kit in the end (always been unsure of what fittings they come with but looks like normal stainless to me). My preference for the fittings is stainless black.

Its very easy to do the hoses. A complete breeze. I love goodridge. The reason why i mentioned about fitting them correctly is that goodridge specify to leave a gap between collars and banjos (etc.). Think they specify 1mm but most tighten them up fully and then some.
I fitted some almost completely by hand yesterday (hose had already had x amount of plastic sheath cut from it though).
I can detail it for you if you like.

Aluminum rotor bolts are an interesting choice. Toss them on a scale for me if you get the chance.

Anodized steel.. I have same ones.

it says alloy in the tittle smart one its def not steel
  • 1 0
You cannot anodize steel as far as I'm aware.

Sure thing, CR. I'll find a scale shot for you. I don't know how they'll hold up to shearing forces though, but sometimes risks must be taken. For science. And no, you cannot anodize steel.
