With your regular riding, how long does a flat pedal shoe last?

I have had two pairs of Aften "Keegan" shoes and both pairs lasted about a year. They don't really fall apart but the sole gets destroyed where it contacts the pins and the shoe develops bald spots. Sucks, I really like the way these shoes pedal with their directional support shank but they just dont grip that well after a while.

My Ride Concepts "Vice" shoes are going strong after one year but they are not the best trail shoe since they lack a stiff sole. It's that lack of a stiff sole though that makes them incredibly comfortable and grippy. I will for sure be keeping a set of these in my closet for years to come.

Anyone recommend a shoe that strikes a good balance between these two?

I could wear through 5 (or maybe even 10) soles on a pair of 5:10s before any other part of the shoe is worn out. I don't think many get resoled so there must be a big 5:10 boneyard somewhere in the world

@mikekazimerr Shoes don't even come close to lasting 6 months. 5-10s blow apart within a month of regular season riding, at most 2 months. Clipless shoes tend to last longer

I use Asics trail running shoes, stiff soles, lots of traction on both the pedals and the turf, last years and way more comfy

My bontrager shoes lasted two years and 3k miles. My 510s used to last 6 months max. Going to try ride concepts next

My flats never last more than like 10 days if that unless they aren’t mtb specific
