Got the 2012 Kashima coat RC2, and man I love it. Smooth as butter. Took a while for everything to loosen up, and had to put a different spring in, but once everything came together, it was nothing but plush all the way around.

Awesome fork. Super plush and reliable. The new axle clamps work so much smoother than the older allen key style setup. The stock fork soring is a little light if your a big guy. I just ordered a yellow spring, which is for anyone over like 220lbs or so.

This fork has been very good. I have used it for pretty much everything: singletrack, all mountain, large jumps and rough downhill. It has handled everything well and the feel has improved with time. Now my setup is as I want it, I happily fly down most downhill tracks with it and it always keeps my front wheel on line. When landing drops you need to be smooth as it doesn't handle them too well, however anything with a good landing it does a very good job. It certainly has inspired confidence in me.

An absolutely unflappable and buttery smooth fork. Saved my bacon more than a couple of times. Priceier than the competion but that's because its worth it. Wouldn't have anything else. Strong and lightweight construction and one of the most rliable forks in class and they look good too!

Awesome forks, super light super smooth Smile
The best fork ive ever owned, much beeter than any Marzocchi, manitou, rock shox fork! just the best for freeride just change the spring weights if you need to, really easy to use and adjust via the comp and rebound adjusters at the top of the forks. love them,

Good, solid fork. Very plush yet seems bottomless...They say, "A good fork makes a bad bike good." After buying this I can definately say this is true!

Light, stiff, strong and smooth. The 08 ones dive a bit but they supposedly have sorted this with the new FIT damper.

Fox Racing 36 Van R (MSRP $1320) — Fox's new 36mm Slopestyle and Singletrack eating monster. The Van RC2 is a butter smooth fork.

Specifications Compare to other Forks

Release Date 2009
Price $1,320
Weight 2322.39 g
Color Options Black.
Travel 160.02 mm
Travel - refers to the distance the wheel can move in respect to the frame. Typically measured in millimeters, most forks range from 80 to 203 mm of travel
Spring Coil
Crown Single
Body Type unknown
Rebound coil spring preload, Rebound
Rebound - is how quick your fork returns to a fully extended position after being compressed. Almost all after-market forks feature external rebound adjustment for easy fine tuning.
Stanchion material unknown
Steer Tube 1.125
Damping FIT
Damping - The process of absorbing the energy of impacts transmitted through the forks or rear shock during the compression stroke, and absorbing the energy of the spring during the rebound stroke.
DropOut Options 20mm
Compression unknown
Compression - This is the damping circuit that absorbs the compression energy force on the damper. Compression damping is used to adjust how quickly a fork or rear shock compresses when hitting a bump, and is adjustable on some products. When compression damping is too soft, this condition allows most of the available travel to be used without attaining control of the wheel. When it's adjusted too firmly, the wheel will jump or "dance" about when hitting small bumps, again failing to gain control of the wheel.
