Eurobike 2013 - Day One at the Outdoor Expo
You guys should check out the rohloff system produced decades ago. Was absolutely bombproof since they never had a gearbox failure (at the time I was using one on a cove g-spot w/ a bb centric pivot), though they never really caught on due to cost and were significantly heavier than the conventional derailleur system. Shimano also produced an 8 speed gearhub ages ago too, that never caught on either.

May 16, 2011Yeti ASX frame (Medium)
$350 GBPThis sale includes:-
-Yeti ASX frame - Size medium (6.4 -7.1 inches of travel)
-Fox DHX 5.0 shock - w/ 500lb and 600lb coils
-Cane Creek Double Xc 1.5" reducer headset
As seen in the pictures the frame has many small chips in the top layer of laquer, however this is purely cosmetic.
The bottom bracket shell has also been professionally repaired by BETD and the frame has not been built up since.
I would prefer local pick up, although I can post it if the buyer pays the Paypal and Shipping fees.
Cheers

I'm 5'10 and got the 16" as it's got a low standover height for the reach (23"), so it's nice and stable for fast singletrack but can still move my weight around with ease. I think the 14" had a 21.5" top tube which sounds like it should be an ideal size for you although I'd recommend getting a test ride from a local shop of a similar size bike to find out whether it would be right. Hope this helps and merry christmas
