so many ajustments, pretty smooth well not mch to say. This shock is super light but extremely tough, for some reason I need to run really high pressures on it to make it work for my riding style, but that doesn't bother me a bit. I also like the different adjustments on it, ProPedal, Highspeed compression, Rebound and obviously the main compression as they can be adjusted to any riding style. You really can't go wrong with this shock.

Great shock, super plush. Everything does exactly what it should. Bottom out resistance resists bottoming out, pro-pedal gets rid of almost all peddle bob, and rebound is very adjustable. Everything just works. Feels very durable too.

Best addition I could have made to the the already smokin FreeDrive I enjoy on my Mongoose Teocali Comp. The pro pedal on the DHX gives just the right amount of stiffening when I'm cranking up the steepest hills.
The capacity on this shock exceeds the OEM Epicon I replaced. With a ride weight of 220-230 lbs this shock never bottoms out and that is with 170 psi in the main air chamber and about 30-25% sag. Although I'm not catching much more than a foot or two of air when I get it! Very comfortable when planted on the seat and making my way down the rocky trail on Trabuco Arroyo.

Great Shock, I've had mine for quite a few years and i'm not really one for regular maintenance.
I ride it regularly at dh tracks and it performs well consistently in all conditions

easily adjusted although to be honest im yet to understand the piggyback adjuster which requires an allen key..

worth a purchase - even off ebay 2nd hand isn't too much of a gamble with this shock

Pros: smooth, light, very customizable, quick and easy to adjust and it looks good.

Cons: a bit to soft of dampaning, rebound knob is quit small, hard to twist botom out resist and it's a bit pricy.

I would rate this 8/10 with price.

I would rate this 9/10 with out price.

had 2 bikes with this shock. freeride and dh. very good way to save weight. rebound always a little slow for dh for me. modifications needed to achieve sufficient bottom out protection. no stickdowns or blown parts yet with this mod. very simple and safe. pm for details.

I quite like how this shock feels in my scott voltage FR, makes the bike feel so much more controlled and planted, but at the same time much easier to maneuver because of the huge weight difference.
Always ensure you have the minimum pressure in the boost valve when riding, otherwise it'll make the damping feel like crap after the oil cavitates (ive experienced this on my brother's old bike). I can sense a slightly lessened compression damping compared to the stock van r, but as a lighter rider this comes as a huge plus and feels ever so much better!! deffo recommended.

The DHX Air takes a bit of time to setup properly but once it is set it works really well.

Take your shock pump out with you on the first few rides to get the air pressure so it feels good in all terrain. Once you find that perfect combination write it down so you never forget it.

great shock, tons of adjustables for any riding condition. it offers a smooth ride for anything i've done around the bay area. It was hard to adjust to begin with, but once all the psi's were proper for my weight and riding style i am unstoppable.

Great air shock. I have always been a coil-over guy, but this is a nice change. Huge weight savings over a coil shock, and the piggy-back is nice for bigger guys like myself, or someone going big.

I'm not sure why anyone uses anything but Fox forks. Nothing comes close. Life is rough without them. Don't even think about getting another brand of fork or shock. They are the best.

Its the best rear shock ive had and its super adjustable and half the weight of a coil rear shock. This shock is super responsive and with the propedel you can use it for anything.

works perfectly with my banshee wildcard. I hear that the cons are that it doesn't work well with bikes that have geometry that doensn't suit the shock properly and also it's not good for riders over 200 lbs.

One of my fav shocks. when i ride with it, it feels like there is no roots on the trail. the one thing i would change about it is that it is a little bit to heavy. if you are a xc rider, i would look at a rp2 or rp23

Super adjustable, easy to dial in, pretty plush for an air shock. Definitely worth the money and can be setup by a couple of aftermarket shops for whatever tune you need. Can YOU say PUSH?!?!

Once this was tuned to my weight and riding style at the shop... it's been no trouble! Check the PSI every 2 weeks, service once a year.
