I think you are mixed up on your interpretation of the suspension. It is a single pivot, with pullrods to actuate the shock linkage. Think about the Kona design but upside down.
Your would'nt use a Alfine hub on the rear as you would destroy it very quickly, and adding 1kg to unsprund weight has a big performance penalty.
