Pinkbike Poll: Wild or Mild - What Makes A Bike Look Great?
And jam in the downtube so when the headtube snaps off it was a grim jelly donut.

@nvranka: I thought that at 32 too! But a ACL reconstruction made me a bit more timid. I don't have issues with steeps and roots, but definitely feel it the next day if I do something dumb.

@lastminutetech: It is great so far. Never seen this much snow so early on out here on the prairies. That being said, I have 3 and it seems that is the magic number to keep one running at all times! The newest is 15 years old, but out here we aren't guaranteed to get enough to ride every year (last time I rode was March 2019) so not thinking $15k is a great investment on a new one! So I'll just keep replacing fuel lines and cleaning out carbs.

@lastminutetech: There are 15 inches of snow on the ground here right now! But the studs are on.

I’ll watch videos like this all day long over back flips and bar spins. Because someday I might actually be good enough to take my 36 year old bones down trails like this!

Video: Teamwork Makes The Dreamwork - Pinkbike Academy Episode 6
Watched all 6 so far. 6 episodes in and I think if one of the remaining 4 competitors had flown into Kelowna and bought a Walmart bike for this they still could be in the running. I know riding ability isn't everything, but it's gotta be worth more than they are letting on. Or maybe the pros aren't actually much faster than me, they just drive with their windows up more than I do!

Burning Question: What Next After the COVID Bike Boom?
I was in both my local shops today and I don't think they are sure where this is going or when it stops. Will 2021 be like 2020? Or does everyone have a bike who wants a bike? Are we going to be playing and watching team sports again by summer and the bikes start collecting dust? Or are all the people who bought $800 hardtails going to want to buy $3000 full squishes and we see another run on bikes, just higher end ones now. Both of them were not sticking their necks out too far with more ordering than usual. Fat Bikes and trainers are sold out already for winter, but that might be also because we had a foot of snow in the first week of November and everyone got panicky. The one good thing I see about this happening in 2020 vs 2015 is I think the big industry changes are done for a while. We aren't going to get slacker and longer, and we can't go to less than a single chainring in the front. So if there are bikes carried over for a couple of years by manufacturers or shops, it won't be anything like if you were trying to sell a 2015 in 2018 or 2019. The same timing is going to play well in the used market in a few years too if these all start showing up online. They won't be out of date unless someone starts making new standards again...
