I tried both. They each have their pros and cons. The nice thing about the Mandonna R is that the change is quick and preserves the geometry.

Cheers. I experienced the spokes losing tension even on smoother trails, so I'm not sure inserts would have solved that issue. I left the crowns fairly low to keep the balance in check with my firmer fork pressures.

Review: Norco Torrent DH - A Wallet-Friendly Bike Park Blaster

The Status 2 bikes were only around long enough for First Ride impressions. The Status 170 2 DH sits more on the freeride than downhill side of park bikes. As you can imagine, the Torrent DH can handle higher speeds and bigger hits due to the longer wheelbase and an extra 30mm of travel front and rear (which is also more progressive).

My short answer is yes. Fade has not been a concern for me. If you are experiencing pressure loss, that sounds like a poor bleed, which I've experienced a few times on various bikes which came with Mavens of all levels. If you're searching for more control, the Silver or Ultimate levers offer the pad contact adjustment. 200mm HS2 rotors provide more power, as would moving up in diameter.

I'd take apart the upper guide and line it with soft-sided velcro. STFUs are a smart, low-cost improvement for almost every bike.
