Check Out: Shoes, Winter Riding Solutions, & More - January 2019
I’ll second this. I’ve had a pair since November. I also have the standard Jameson. The mid crank edition is way stiffer and pretty great for trail rides. Not as stiff as free rider pros but I prefer them, you have more pedal feel. They’re also holding up remarkably well and the suede is surprisingly resilient.

I have a pair and they’re plenty stiff enough for trail riding. I’ve done a couple 30 mile rides in them with no problems.

Video: Massive Style at Revolution Bike Park with Sam Hockenhull
He just looks so casual. The way he just floats into his whips Is really impressive. Also looks like he’s running a 150mm or so fork? Definitely looks too long to be 130.

Ridden & Rated: 12 Jackets for Wet Weather Riding
II have the Arcteryx Beta SL Hybrid jacket. While it did cost as much as a wheel set I’ve gotta say it is hands down the best rain jacket I’ve ever encountered. I’ve had it for 5 years and it still works and looks like new. That said, I’d never wear it riding, hiking/backpacking/climbing etc. yes, but the odds of ripping it while biking just seem too high. Get something more affordable that won’t make you break down in tears if you crash in it.

Lee McCormack's Guide to Finding the Handlebar Width Sweet-Spot
Yeahhhh this says I need 849mm bars. I use 780mm. Feels great and is the max width that will shimmy through some tight tree spots on some of my local more “old school” trails.

Racing Rumors 2.0: Gwin, the Athertons, & More
Riders like Phil Atwill can offer a brand a lot more than race results. People love watching his video segments, Slice of British Pie etc. For me he kind of falls into that Ratboy/50.01 lump where yeah he might do some races but it’s his riding we all wanna see, no matter the format. Cube doesn’t really seem to have an athlete like that, so they could be a good fit. Kinda like Cannondale picking up Sam and supposedly Ratboy. They’d just be trying to change their image.

Pinkbike Awards: Suspension Product of the Year Nominees
Yeah I mean regardless of how anyone feels about the lefty in general, it does seem like it deserves to be nominated. Entirely new chassis, single crown, fits any bike, new damper and much improved brake mounting system. That seems like it warrants more consideration than just a evolved damper from one of the big two.
