I'd love to see similar videos about Pontvianne and Falquet who finished 2nd and 4th overall, respectively, in Men's Juniors in 2023. They finished 1-2 at Mont Ste Anne to end the year. UCI says they're members of PB's team. You hit the nail on the head. It's a fun event, and even if all the competitors would love to win one they all seem to have a great respect for each other and they probably know that the judging is a crap shoot, so who cares who wins (unless the rider has a contract with a sponsor that pays a bonus for winning). Enjoy it for the awesome efforts of all the competitors, and don't let the judging ruin it for you. It's a great annual event.

Nicholi and Aaron Gwin have completely different personalities and energy levels, and yet each of them adds a huge amount to any broadcast they're a part of.

Vali Holl had 3 events this year where she took maximum possible points, finishing first in quali, semi, and finals. She had 1 event where she was 2nd in qualifying but 1st in semis and finals. Pretty impressive (and yeah, I get it, Rachel and Cami weren't there for much of the season, but still...)

Max is having a solid year in World Cup, with 4 top 20 finishes so far and 19th in the standings. Cube Factory's team is having a nice year as well, with their 3 riders 18th, 19th and 21st in the standings.

@HankHank: Well, the potential outcome changed with the splits, but when Danny laid down an amazing final split it changed one last time. There's another video I'll have to look for where Loic talked about what he went through and said how much he owed to Danny.

If anyone wants to see what might have been the most exciting and nerve wracking final race of a season, go watch either (or both) of the Red Bull videos linked below. The 2019 overall champion was decided by the final run of the day, by a man who wasn't in contention for it. Danny Hart was the last man down the mountain, and how he raced decided the overall winner. Two of the most memorable and iconic downhill runs ever belong to him.
