That’s only because we happened to buy a short bed truck, which is more common here in the UK! If you have a longer bed, then you just keep the tailgate up

It’s HPL - a composite of kraft paper (unbelievably) & phenolic resin. Used a lot for exterior building cladding, gym shower cubicles, and outdoor cafe tables. You end up with a surprisingly stiff sheet material.

We run a big old chain or wire rope lock through the rack & wheels into the truck’s anchor points and found that’s the simplest solution!

Agreed! We're not trying to compete with the $20 stuff from Ali! We're a small family business, making everything ourselves in the UK from nice materials and building in functionality that we know works for proper cyclists, as we our ourselves. We've been ask many times before why don't we simply keep design in-house, and outsource production overseas - but that's simply not what we're about. That means our pricing is what it costs us to make, plus a bit of profit to survive as a business. We know that means the price will be like marmite - some love it, some hate it, and we're cool with that!

@heatproofgenie: there are a number of different tilt positions so you can chose what best fits your bike. Slacker bikes use more tilt, and steeper head angle bikes use less tilt for the same amount of handlebar turn.

@FuzzyL: we think we’ve achieved both! The tilt is controlled by a series of locating pins and holes. This gives you a range of tilt positions for adjustability, whilst ensuring the mount never slips or moves during vehicle movement. Additionally, rather than circular holes for fixing the mount to a rail or floor, there are slots which give you a little extra adjustment on how far you turn the handlebars.
