Bills-Bike-Tools

Bill is a lifelong road cycling enthusiast and a qualified engineer who has spent the whole of his working life solving customers problems. In the last 10 years many engineering advances have been made in bike manufacture, resulting in lighter, higher performance machines with the introduction of aluminium alloy and carbon frames and components. This has resulted in less rugged bikes where care has to be taken when assembling, dismantling or servicing.

Bill's personal experience removing pedals after a tough winter (lots of salt on the roads) resulted in his development of the PEDAL AID to remove reluctant pedals from the crank without damaging the frame, chain (stretching), sprocket wheel, cassette, wheels or bearings. An additional bonus is not damaging yourself with the spanner slipping off the pedal shaft.

Please check out www.billsbiketools.co.uk for detailed information about the Pedal Aid.

All the best,

Introducing Pedal Aid..
Holding onto the other crank will not give more leverage - it will purely just prevent the crankset rotating. This method can prove to be awkward though as I'm sure we're all aware of. With regards to damage, if you can bend a crank arm then you probably won't need the Pedal Aid because you'll be able to remove the pedals with your bare hands. The tools welds are all smoothened off but there is talks of a rubber insert being attached to the inside of the tool to ensure this doesn't happen. We take all comments on board and will always do our best to respond or advise. BBT

Introducing Pedal Aid..
Like a lot of tools out there, it is to make the job easier because, as busy people, we look for the option that makes the job the easiest and quickest. The Pedal Aid prevents rotation of the crank allowing the user to apply a spanner or allen key to the pedal freely and without causing stress to any component on the bike. BBT
