Counterpoint: Do We Really Need E-Bikes?

I have a slight bias towards "No ebikes", but I ultimately can't make the decision for anyone. I love the purity of regular MTB; it's a nice break from the ever increasing invasion of technology. Nothing to charge or plug in, no one can get ahold of me. My favorite times are out on the trail with friends, I love ripping down as much as attempting to clean a tough climb by my own power. There seems to be a nice simplicity to it that, for me, would be gone with ebikes.

Don't Ignore the Real World - Opinion

Great piece here. The benefits of nature and being unplugged for a while are just one of many reasons to be out riding. Not to mention the prospect of those "adventure rides", ones where my friends and I take a route we haven't gone before. It's gotten us caught in the dark and/or inclement weather before, but I never regret it and they make for great memories.

Road Trip to Moab - Part One

Agreed. I was in Moab last year, and The Whole Enchilada became one of my favorite memories from that place. I've been telling everyone I know who hasn't been to go out there. Incredible riding.

Pinkbike Poll: Flow Trails vs. Technical Trails

I personally like both. Some days I'm in the mood for a good speedy, rippin' flowy trail. Other days I want a trail that has lots of chunk and/or slab and/or rooted sections that test front wheel placement. I will admit I have a slight preference for technical trails. Some trails in my area even combine both types of sections into a single trail. Those are fun since you get so many different types of terrain in one ride.
