Review: Trickstuff's Maxima Brakes Are Fancy and Finicky
My $.02. I have these brakes. They do not feel like they have much power on a “parking lot test.” It’s actually hard to lock them up in a parking lot unless you dial the reach way out. At first I thought I bled them incorrectly, so I bled them multiple different times, different ways, and even brought to a bike shop to bleed, and they felt identical after every bleed. I figured out that it’s just how they feel at slow speeds in a parking lot. On trail at speed, they are amazing. The amount of lever force it takes to access the power is effortless and smooth. And once you hit the bite point it’s very easy to control how much or how little you want the brakes to bite. I really never noticed how great they were until I rode them for about 6 months then switched to my other bike with Saints. The Saints felt awful comparatively; took a lot more lever force at speed to slow down, especially once you hit that bite point. I had to squeeze WAY harder to slow down with the Saints, which I didn’t enjoy and didn’t inspire confidence

2024 Contra MC. Size XL. Excellent Condition. If you know about this bike, then you probably already know the details: https://contrabikes.com/products/mc These bikes are custom made in Santa Cruz California. Bike color is “Prismatic Universe”. I believe this is the only Contra on the East Coast. The color is absolutely insane, especially in the sun. The color changes depending on what angle you are looking at it.
