Anamoly Launch Crowdfunding for Their New Flat Pedal Shoes With Bold Claims
@hi-dr-nick: Thanks for the suggestion. This was actually requested a few different times. We'll consider it for the next batch of production and/or a second roll-out of new styles, once we're able to go to market with our first production batch — which is currently set for Q4, or by the end of year 2022.

@Almazing Hi there, Chris here - the founder. I assume you're making mention to the aggressive knobby grip around the outside toebox, which we've since addressed based on rider/consumer feedback. You can take a look at the redesign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly/posts/3278142

Anamoly Launch Crowdfunding for Their New Flat Pedal Shoes With Bold Claims
@babathehutt Hi there, Chris here - the founder. To clarify, we never said anything about 'blending in' or about rider's looking like 'kooks.' Those were words put in our mouths by the PB editors. Visit the Kickstarter page to see things from our perspective, without taking things out of context please. And regarding your comment about the aggressive grip around the toebox, we've recently updated this portion based on rider/consumer feedback. You can take a look at the redesign yourself here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly/posts/3278142

Anamoly Launch Crowdfunding for Their New Flat Pedal Shoes With Bold Claims
@nickfranko: Hi there, Chris here - the founder. We've updated the front toe portion of the sole to be a more modern, clean design. What you see in the images and video are simply prototypes that are in the pre-production phase, meaning they will be updated based on rider/consumer feedback. We're a rider driven company that prides ourselves on being designed by riders, for riders. You can take a look at the re-design here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly/posts/3278142

Anamoly Launch Crowdfunding for Their New Flat Pedal Shoes With Bold Claims
@klaus79856 Hi there Klaus, Chris here - the founder. We've actually been getting quite a few requests for larger sizes — US 14 and 15 in particular. The $60k funding goal is to cover x4 colorways in sizes 6-12 only, but we could definitely offer the larger sizes M's US 13, 14, and 15 if additional funding levels or 'stretch goal' is reached. The lack of larger sizes seems to be a sore point within the industry (new to me!). Anyway, there's much about that on the actual Kickstarter campaign page, under the Rewards section (right below Colorways). We have 25 days left to reach our funding goal, so I hope you'll consider backing us and giving an underdog a chance! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly

Hi, I'm Chris - the founder. Appreciate the kind words! It's reassuring after seeing all of the negativity and sarcasm on this comment section.... Yes, the product actually looks and feels much better in person. Jonny and his crew did a great job on the video, so hat tip to him. It was a strange creative brief, but they took it and ran with it. Regarding your stretch lace pocket integrated into the tongue — we still haven't committed to mass production, so this is a change we could definitely implement (pending successful funding). That said, we only have 25 days left to reach our funding goal — so I hope you'll consider backing us and giving an underdog a chance! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly

Anamoly Launch Crowdfunding for Their New Flat Pedal Shoes With Bold Claims
Hi - I'm Chris, the founder. No drop shippers here. We're a SoCal based company and I'm a rider and a frequenter of PinkBike just like most of you are here. No affiliation with RC at all. We designed these shoes from the ground up over a 2 year period, and put up a huge capital investment developing the prototypes over multiple rounds of iterations to dial them in as a result. We're underdogs here and are entirely self-funded and bootstrapped. This is the reason we're turning to Kickstarter — no such rich uncle or dad to provide the initial upfront $150k seed money like the founder of another brand in this industry had at his disposal (now owned by a large multi-national). I'm as blue-collar as they come, and took the risk and put up the investment myself. Can any of the other detractors in this comment thread say the same? Anyway, there's much more of the story on why we chose to launch on Kickstarter on the actual campaign page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly

Hi, I'm Chris - the founder. Also that 'marketing guy' you speak of. We do have quite a few toned down graphic options, including an all-black version (Ninja), black / gum sole version (A-Line Gum), and classic black / red version (Moto). The wild ones were thrown out there do take a risk, do something bold, and experiment with something new and different. The Aloha is actually the #1 favorite style of all, funnily enough, despite the severe amounts of trash talk going on in this comment thread... Unfortunately for a head-to-head comparison, we're definitely all for it, but unfortunately there are only two pairs of each of these (Men's sample size 9) that exist — and they're currently with Jonny and his team in the UK. The Kickstarter is only running for another 25 days, so having the prototype pairs sent from the UK to PB offices and happening to find a rider who's size 9 within the short period we'll need funding by is slim to none. But, after the campaign wraps up (pending successful funding so we'll have the capital to open the different sole sizes), we definitely plan to send a pair over to the crew at PB for a full review like you speak of. So we're at a chicken and egg problem. I don't have a rich uncle, and I come from as blue collar of a background as they come — so I don't personally have $60k to just whip up and get these made (I wish I did). This is why we're turning to Kickstarter, as the website allows for pre-orders by micro-investors or 'backers' worldwide, aka the 'crowdfunding community.' Anyway, there's much more of the story on why we chose to launch on Kickstarter on the actual campaign page. We have 25 days left to reach our funding goal, so I hope you'll consider backing us and giving the underdog a chance! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly

Hi, I'm Chris - the founder. We spent a lot of time perfecting our rubber formula with some of the best rubber specialists and processing plants in our supply chain, so I think you'll be pleasantly surprised :) I'm a serious rider myself, and I don't bullshit. The idea came for these because I took a really bad crash on my 30th birthday (back in 2017) at Whistler on the first day — which essentially ruined the remainder of the week-long trip. It was a particularly rainy season and was quite muddy and wet when my riding buddies and I were up there. I bought a pair of Specialized 2FO's, and the rubber was garbage on them! My feet dismounted and I went OTB on a big jump on A-Line. Ever since that experience, I always wanted to design a shoe with rubber that became stickier when wet, to prevent that same bad experience from happening to others. Anyway, there's much more of the story on the actual campaign page (including photos from the trip before the crash happened). We have 25 days left to reach our funding goal, so I hope you'll consider backing us and giving the underdog a chance! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/anamoly/the-mountain-bike-shoe-redefined-anamoly
