Avalanche Racing Replacement Fork Cartridge Kit
I recently started mtn biking again after 15 years of riding motocross bikes on track and trail. I was surprised how little as far as feel the forks have come. (Pike on a bronson) I do suspension on mx bikes so I had to do some research on whats inside and to my surprise found some decent stuff in the pike on my bike. The charger cartridge is a good cartridge that is just poorly set up due to them trying to keep the thing from bobbing on hammering uphill. Now just some facts for yall... The charger cartridge mimics MX Marzochii's Shivers. (Not a sought after fork but mostly from other stuff besides the cartridge.) The avalanche cartridge is a typical open bath cartridge found on older mx bikes, works decent for trails but not MX. All shim and valve hydraulic type cartridges are speed sensitive, meaning the faster the shaft moves on a hit the more the shims open and oil flows etc..., the best is yet to come I think. MX bikes have transitioned over to air forks and Showa, KYB and now WP are all taking a stab on creating the best air forks. IMO the best results will come from a closed cartridge system similar to what KYB created, the PSF. Showas are nice but probably too heavy for mtn bike. Haven't seen the WP yet.

$600 USDThis is a 1998 Specialized Ground Control FSR Elite full suspension mountain bike. It's in good working condition. I am the original owner and really haven't put much time on this bike as I got into Motocross along time ago and just used this for a little fun cross training.
