Sorry for the late reply.
Running the 40 on my SX trail is awesome, all my mates love the way it handles, and I would personally find it hard pushed to replace the frame for something that will work better than the sxt.
Travel is at 7", had some trouble with the usual, bump stops, axel tightening rods (expensive) and top caps made of magnesium cheese, but the fork is amazing.
It is a fork that you have to ride lots to get the best out of it, seals like to be stored upside down to keep it smooth, and it will take a few hours of abuse to feel right - so stick with it.
But the fork has not let me down (only my riding - now having a fractured collar bone)
Would highly recomend this fork, I beleive it is the best fork out there, because you don't feel it working. RS has too much change in the ramping of compression so feels clunky, and Marzocchi are just too linea to feel right over progressive trails with variation. Fox all the way, 40 is the best DH fork. Hence why more independant riders buy 40's than any other fork.

I just blew the cartridge of my fox 40 hahaha.... and using boxxer wc now. I prefer to rebuild my 40 instead of buying this boxxer of my friend. The 09 40 is good and so much better then the 07 or 08. 888 is not good, my friend got so much problem running it and he's changing to 09 fox 40. I don't know the axle to crown height of fox 40 sorry.

I run minion2 but F&F.... if the soil is a bit soft it's the best set up. If the soil a bit hard I run high rollers at the back. for mud tire I run wet scream or michelin mud3. Don't remember what compound I have but it's soft. cheers
