I LOVED seeing Blevins put the US on top of the XC world this year, but Ben Hildred's record is the accomplishment that stuck with me the most this year. Remarkable feat by someone who isn't a factory supported professional athlete.

Scott-SRAM MTB Racing Signs Fabio Püntener & Extends Filippo Colombo's Contract to 2028

I remember in one Wynn TV episode he was talking to Püntener after a race and asking if he was making any money from racing. And the answer was a resounding no. I hope this changes and kick-ass privateers who grind through a season like Püntener did get to experience an upside to the effort.

New World Cup Venues Confirmed for 2026 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series

LOVE that they're coming to Soldier Hollow. Great venue, beautiful backdrop and logistically speaking, so easy to get to from the Salt Lake City airport (compared to some other destinations). Great course too, I've raced it fat biking and in the Intermountain Cup series. Given the huge MTB scene here, I think this is a great move to bring the World Cup to more people.

I absolutely loved this. I try to get bits and pieces of the rider's personalities on the Max/WB Sports interviews, but it's so limited to podium riders and a few pre-race convos on the trainers with Josh that I don't really get a good feel for other riders on the field. Keep this up Wyn, I'll watch every one!

Rebecca Henderson Will Miss XC World Cup Opening Rounds After National Champs Crash

For some reason, this made me think of when she announced that she was separating from Dan a few years back (I think it was a pre-race video interview during Nove Mesto Na Morave in '22). I remember thinking that it seemed so fresh and you could tell it fueled her riding and drive, because she took her first world cup win that race. Hard to think of another XC racer that fights as hard as she does when the going gets rough.
