Why all the epicness? Why just show the big bangers, the baddest bails and fastest runs? Why So Serious? After all, freeriding for many people is just as much about goods times with your regular crew, as it is about riding your bikes. It's just as much about having fun on the road, as it is about enjoying the trails. That's why in 2010 AGM set out to document the pure fun-on-the-road aspect of an epically proportioned freeriding roadtrip.
Read more! Pics and video inside! When a bunch of guys pack themselves and their gear into vans and set out for a 30-day freeriding road-trip around Europe, you can bet your fat ass that there's gonna a lot more to remember, document and experience than just the trails and the bikeparks. This was the basic premise we had in mind as we set out to cover the roads and bikeparks of Sweden, Norway, France, Switzerland and Austria. Plenty of filming gear, more than plenty of biking gear, over 6000 km, 31 days, 3 overnight ferry connections, party costumes and countless beers all add up to the most fun time ever for the AGM crew.
Sweden - Somewhere in the coast of Stockholm, chilling out on the deck with some "mild liquid refreshments"...
Sweden - It's a dining room - no, wait, now it's a bike storage! Gotta love those Swedish engineers for their creative thinking. Too bad they're not as up-to-par with building proper Saunas. Sorry.
Norway - Enjoying life and some beers after a long day of riding at Hafjell. Official Eurotour mascot "Tomte" making sure (with his axe if necessary) that everything is kept in check.
Austria - An episode of AGM Cribs. Well, not really, but the 2 cribs at Leogang were maybe even a little too fancy for a crew like this. Should have taken "before" and "after" pictures...
Austria - Here's the scenery from our backyard at night, the Leogang lift lit up nicely. Looked good with a few (yes, you guessed it) beers.
France - Yes, did also do some riding on the trip... Here's an example of a one-foot table performed on the slopes of Les Gets.
France - Found some nice spots and trails at Chatel - definitely amongst the top 3 resorts to visit in the Portes Du Soleil area. Even though the serpentine road leading up there wasn't that fun in the back of a van, if you've had a few beers the day before... Anyhow, here's a nice shot from the "creek gap" spot on People trail.
France - More riding. The free roaming cows were a nice little bonus to brighten up the pictures and video (or to ovalize your front wheel, if things decide to go pear-shaped). Here's the "moo-moos" making their appearance at a well-known spot in Chatel.
Austria - Still even more riding, seriously guys? Well, yes - and no. It was time to pull on some party costumes at Leogang and release Tico The Clown into the wild. You old school boarders out there; a distant relative to Boozy the Clown. Both known to be prone to similar antics...
Finland - Back home. NOTE TO SELF: For good pics, you don't need the Alps. Practice sessions at your local hill will do just fine. Kudos out to the RidingJKL crew at Nordic Bikeparks / Laajavuori - continue keeping things awesome up there, homies. See you next year.
A big shout out to the guys providin' the shinin' photos - Toni Juopperi, Mikko Hammar, and Jani Kärppä (that last picture above).
Oh yes, and the name of the movie? If you've
really, really paid attention earlier, you might have even already guessed it. Yes, that's right: "
Why So Serious".
Enjoy the teaser, and the not-so-serious trailer from the AGM Crew.
Remember guys and girls, at the end of the day - it's about having fun.
Peace out,
AGM Productions
