Orbea Establishes Foundation to Expand Global Trail & Community Initiatives

Just to add, the picture of the kid is our local bike park opening. That started 30 years ago, before I was around, and the locals kept it going with passion and no help. There were years it was closed. And one day the police came, declared it illegal and confiscated people's bikes... and now it's official, and maintained.

Orbea Establishes Foundation to Expand Global Trail & Community Initiatives

This is massive. We have seen the effect of Orbea's work first hand in the Pyrenees and the trail network has benefitted massively. In our little valley it's had a huge effect. From a handful of committed nutters scratching in illegal trails, to getting some help, to getting the local governments onboard and setting up our non-profit to help make everything cleaner and more sustainable. Now we have a sustainable network of trails, for all abilities, and with he creation of the foundation it just makes it even more stable and sustainable. Great work Orbea and thanks, on behalf of our riding community, for all the support.

Reader Story: Return of the Bonesmashers

Thanks for the adventure, Pete. It was a brilliant few days of relay snoring and early starts! The timing of the article is perfect. It's a poignant reminder of how fragile these places really are. As it's being published, the cliffs are being hit by severe wildfires, along with the mountains behind them that many of you who've joined us on a trip will have ridden through. The firefighters are working tirelessly to bring the fires under control. I'm confident the trails will survive, but sadly, I'm sure that much of the wildlife will be heavily affected.

@Timo82: you can get a mechanical dropper no problems. There are many models that offer that and routing is included.

The new must visit destination in the pyrenees 😉 It’s Bielsa a bit but mostly Benasque. We guided and organized the trails. And in both areas Orbea has very heavily donated to support the trails over the years.
