Opinion: The Fight for the Future of Our Mountains
Seems like a sign held up by string would be an easy solution to this "problem".

@mattg95: yeah I don't understand this. If there's less snow in the winter for skiers, why would they fight mtbers in the summer? Just out of malice for someone else having fun when they couldn't?

Police Called to Scott Sports Headquarters as CEO Dispute Continues
@Ttimer: No police in its current US implementation doesn't prevent crime, it's become a total joke. Hence why we should just drop it and move onto elected sheriffs. Let people vote for the level of law enforcement they'd like, it would vary a ton throughout the country. It was working for a while there and then society made some changes after 2020. Unfortunately wealth inequality has gotten far far worse over the last few years, so that's not great either. There's no way to spend our way out of these problems.

Police Called to Scott Sports Headquarters as CEO Dispute Continues
@GTscoob: keep in mind the US has spent trillions since the 1960s on the War on Poverty, similar to the War on Drugs we seem to be losing these wars lol. Endless spending on nice feelings and good intentions doesn't seem to pan out too often. Obviously the far left is nuts but I was down for the defund the police movement. Seems most of the cities who did Defund then ended up refunding their cops because of people dissatisfied with crime. Now the big problem with both our police and military is they can't get people to join in the numbers desired lol. What a shitshow..

Police Called to Scott Sports Headquarters as CEO Dispute Continues
@GTscoob: that dude said it wasn't an easy job, not that it's the most dangerous job. I wouldn't want to be a cop (guessing you wouldn't either) regardless of how incredibly dangerous lawncare is, being a cop wouldn't be fun. Like every profession some are good people and some aren't. I'd prefer we just moved over to elected sheriffs and got rid of cops lol.

Video: Max Fredriksson’s Perspective on Why the Male Slopestyle Riders Decided to Not Compete at Crankworx Rotorua
If there's so much money to be made then the riders should just organize their own event and sell tickets, they can agree on how to split up the money. Slopestyle is a niche style in a niche sport, I'm guessing there isn't so much money to be made. At a certain point, maybe the danger isn't worth it for the small pay.

Replay: Slopestyle - Crankworx Rotorua 2024
Hopefully they don't just drop slopestyle in the future. Mtb is already niche and SS even more niche. The money may just not be there and they'd be better off putting it into events like DH. Obviously the entire cycling industry and the world is in a bad place financially right now. Or maybe it would be better to drop SS from crankworx and it can go back to more of rider organized events where they set the rules. Little disappointed to see some riders not standing in solidarity with the men..
