NO don't take that BS from Santa Cruz. I got mine replaced it took almost 6 months but they finally realized that you should be able to ride you bike how it was intended with out it braking. I call it a design flaw. I just wish they still offered aluminum for those of us that get carbon have it fail and realized if durability is what you want at the cost of a lb or two then aluminum is the way to go. Now that I'm off my soap box sorry to see it broke good luck with Santa Cruz.

I'm going to say no that is not supposed to be there. It looks like that bubbling rust on old cars. If Santa Cruz said it not supposed to be there hope they replace it for free.

Keep pestering Kona them about replacing there frame. I kept bugging Santa Cruz to replace my frame and they finally admitted the brake was a defect. Now on that if I had to buy another frame I would NOT get carbon ever again but it getting harder not to get non carbon frames.

NOTHING hit the frame. If a rock hit the frame I could understand but nothing hit the frame.

Just pedaling in a flat section trying to gain speed. Took a pedal to the shin nothing serious.

Luckily the other side of the downtube held together, but it did cause my tire to slam into the seat.
