Video: Friday Fails #303
Its a large sharkfin drop at a small bike park in Missouri. Its fun and smooth but if you chicken out you're sliding off and I can guarantee Jeff chickened out and stopped and that led to his demise.

Photo Story: An Oasis of Perfectly-Sculpted Jumps in California
Come build in the Midwest. Weather isn't SoCal, but you can ride year round. Plenty of rock, terrain, and money. There are several trail companies, here's one doing great work https://www.rocksolidtrails.com/join

Like New Ibis Mojo HD3 Frame

$1250 USD
Size large Ibis Mojo HD3 frame in like new condition. The front triangle is new, never ridden. I had a small superficial crack on the original the likely resulted from a crash and I rode with it for over a year but Ibis warrantied it no question. The rear triangle is in great shape, has a few scratches from normal riding. It is non boost 142x12 size. Rock Shox Monarch shock is the recommended low compression/med rebound tune and has low hours.

Pinkbike Poll: Convertible Full-Face Helmets - Yea or Nay?
I see value in these helmets. Where I live it gets horribly humid and hot in the warmer months. Last spring I was doing a difficult enduro race in extremely rocky remote backcountry. I opted for the half shell because it was really humid and I had a full day of brutal climbs ahead of me. First segment of that day I got bucked by an unseen rock and hit a tree face first. Had a serious concussion broke my nose and cheekbone. I think if I would have had some kind of face protection it would have helped immensely. My TLD helmet didn't help me much at all in this case. Its a lot easier to disconnect the part and connect to the pack than it is to ride with a full face all day sweating balls. I probably would have had to remove the helmet and attach it to my pack altogether.

Where would you go, if you could road trip anywhere? - Pinkbike Poll
I've ridden pretty much every top rated spot in US, even Hawaii and as amazing as they were BC is still the best place I've ridden. The terrain is just so rugged and perfect for mountain biking. The amount of trails and quality of trails is second to none. NZ is on the top of my wish list, as with one of those islands locales like Bali. The French alps look incredible as well. I think the BC interior is my next goal.

The Backcountry of Northwest Arkansas - Video
Arkansas is my go to for weekend getaways. The growth of the trails down there has been unbelievable. They are currently building 40+ miles of singletrack in Bella Vista to be completed by fall. Trails there have a little bit of everything, but a lot is flowy machine built trail but its really fun stuff. Lake Leatherwood in Eureka Springs is my favorite, 20 plus miles of rugged singletrack and a shuttleable DH run with some serious hits. Camping, cabins, showers, and a beautiful lake make it really special. Feels like backcountry but only a few miles from a town with bars and restaurants. The potential of the region is unreal, and that's not even including the Ouachita range further south. Is it a destination like Moab, Sedona or Pisgah yet? I wouldn't say that, but if you're going to be in the area definitely bring your bike.

Brain Injuries in Mountain Biking - Are We Doing Enough?
This story really hits home. After nearly 20 years of mountain biking I sustained my first concussion last spring in an enduro race. I got bucked face first into a tree at speed. I really should have had a full face on. As soon as it happened I wasn't sure where I was for about 10 seconds then my first thought was to get out of those woods. I felt nauseous the rest of that day, had an emotional breakdown in the ER and foggy and flu like for a week or two. I can't imagine getting back on the bike immediately after that. Its scary and its serious and recovery requires a lot of rest. I'm still not the same on the bike 3 month later. I really hope helmets and safety protocols continue to improve.
