Quebec's Classic Party Ride: OctobikerFest 2017 Recap
Been there for the second time, got eliminated in the first round of the slalom but had great fun and full day of riding nevertheless. Spectacular way to close the season (at least for me). Will be there next year for sure!

Pinkbike Poll: Why Do You Trail Build?
Because if I don't build/ help with maintenance, I will have to drive for at least 40-60 min to ride anything interesting.

You Don't Need to Learn on a Hardtail - Opinion
Well, you still probably need a hardtail or short travel FS if you want to ride pump track, dual, 4x or dirt. And learn the concepts of weight distribution and how to control your bike without being clipped in. I might be biased because that's how I learned it.

Supernatural Quebec - Part Deux
4 years in MTL (this city has my heart and I hope to return soon), 2 years in QC and travelled around the province. Still face it almost everyday. Yes, I did improve my French greatly here and yes I know the origins/history behind, but as soon as you leave Montreal or ULaval campus your chances decrease drastically . You cross the bridge and already in Longueuil 4 out 5 real-estate agents that I've met don't speak English, I'm not even talking about my landlady, or mechanic or even secretary. Don't get me wrong, the people are still nice and friendly but the language barrier is there, (a lot of, well, life goes in French only) to deny this is like denying a rather considerable gap on your track. Yes, with some skills and courage it can be done by anyone, but you can't pretend it is not there. If you go to Bromont or MSA - sure, fine - here is your pass, here is the lift, what else do you need? For the rest...well, like it or not my experience was different. Still remember the guy in cafeteria who printed a page of Loi 101 just for me. And that's is why I said: want the best experience - find yourself a bilingual guide.

Supernatural Quebec - Part Deux
Prides itself on hospitality...that was smth new. Live here, French is a third language (and rather poor), have to disagree. Montreal - yes, Quebec..I'll get tons of negative for this, but no. Rides are great, nature is beautiful, food and beer - marvellous, but if you plan to visit you'd better take someone who speaks French with you.

Opinion - Tag, You're It!
Well, for example, yesterday I've put a new Maxxis Highroller 2 tyre and had a great ride, and it reminded me of the old times when my friends and I were kids and dreamed about bikes, parts, etc. and there were those Maxxis tyres with orange stripe and it was like a secret handshake - only "those who know" were riding them. So I wrote about these memories and used hashtags, as the words "maxxis" and "highroller" would be there anyway, and givin' zero f*cks about marketing. Because Schwalbe Nobby Nick was a complete disappointment to me, as well as Formula RX, and they will have there own hashtags if I write about them. As hashtags of places or brands you ride help you to find people with similar interests. Next time I press "explore" on Instagram it will likely show me other people in my area who ride Maxxis or Commencal or whatever and then I can find new rides, meet new people.

Video: The World's Most Famous Trail Dog is Back - Lily Shreds 2
That's the question of dog's psychology, the one who runs first (and chooses where to go) is the leader of the pack. That's why trained dogs always follow at a side. So Lily slows down (and you can see this in the couple of moments) to be just a little behind the owner.

Pinkbike Poll: Mountain Biking Unplugged
Even in park I ride with a phone in my first-aid waist bag on a back. Though I use it only with Endomondo-logger to check the profile of a new track later at home. How you can wear headphones with a full-face is still a mistery to me. HR monitor? really? not in XC?
