Pinkbike's Burning Question - Should You Support Your Local Bike Shop or Buy Online?
I've worked in a chain bicycle store for a while now and it is amazing how different the prices there are in comparison to Chain Reaction Cycles. For me I buy my small items there (lube, tubes, etc) but bigger items (chains, cassettes, tyres, grips) all come from online...so much cheaper and better product. But local bike stores provide servicing and once you've found the right place; there can be an excellent relationship with the customer and mechanic/sales staff and the customer can get the correct advice and parts they need...quite often they're alright with sometimes paying a little more knowing that it is the correct product and that there is no shipping time.

SRAM XX1 Drivetrain - First Look
Some people should just man up and ride a single chain ring. Having more chain rings doesn't make that much difference...dirt jumpers survive on single speed and still get by, I ride my Norco with a single 34 teeth chain ring and a 9 speed cassette, works fine. My only issue is that I need a higher gear for going flatout, but I'm just going to go 10 speed once my deraileur and cassette wear out

Best Laid Plans: A Summer's Journey - Trailer
I got sick at age 15 in 2010 with a rare physical condition where I had a ligament pinching an artery cutting blood flow to my gut by 75%. I also had this ligament pressing into nerves and so I had terrible back pain and stomach pain all the time. I wasn't able to ride for 7 months and doctors found it inconclusive until someone had a very close look at my CT scan and realised I needed surgery. Surgery recovery from that was 3-4 months and not being able to ride the whole time sucked so much but the feeling of getting back on the bike in better health is the greatest thing in the world. Stay strong everyone!
