Video: Sydney, Australia Has Mountain Biking, But No Mountains
There is a push to develop a real DH track on the edge of the blue mountains around the glenbrook area from memory, there was an illegal one that was discovered. I think the WSMTB might be helping try and push that through Knapsack reserve that was it.

@Demo8AUT: there are some down south near the nuclear plant most of what you saw was northern beaches, St Ives area has a lot of good trails, hornsby has a smallish mtb park that has a decent blue trail and a nice greet trail. Wylde mtb park out near liverpool is green, is one giant 12km loop with a 3km and 6km cut through so you can decide on how far you want to ride, also has a small jump track, now has toilets and a covered eating area. Do note that some of the trails like manly damn and Wylde close if there is any rain as the trails are mostly clay and get easily damaged in the wet. for a longer ride catch the train from central station to woodford in the blue mountains and there is a 30km track you can ride down to the base of the blue mountains (oaks trail, most weekends the trains are full of mtbrs heading out to do this trail :)

@YamaFolk: there used to be a bunch of riders that would meet wed night and do a mtb/bmx ride around the CBD when it was quiet that was a lot of fun, lots of jumps and rails to be found if you knew where to look. rotorburn.com where where they used to advertise the rides.

There aren't, there are hills certainly but the closest mountain is in the blue mountains which being national park has a few trails but we are mostly locked out of the national parks unless we can put up a good argument and beat the local hippies into allowing trails (hornsby came about after lots of meetings and us fighting tooth and nail for it to be allowed, luckily common sense prevailed and we got our trails.

Video: Timmy Eaton Takes on Canberra
heh I've spent plenty of hours on and around mt stromlo, awesome park with riding for everyone. Majura has changed a bit a part of it is getting ripped up for a new highway (boo) but there are trails around Canberra as well. Locals will tell you where they are. Kowan forest is also a good ride but again it changed from last year as it is a pine forest and subject to logging. used to run and awesome 24 hr race there called the kow. sadly like other 24hr events it is no longer being run.
