Women's DH Points Revised, Enduro Shock Swaps and XC Fields Shrunk in 2020 UCI Regulations
@ltrumpore: I’ve always understood these rules of having one piece of equipment to reflect how enduro started. Friends just out riding bikes in the mountains. In which case, no one would ever carry a spare wheel, fork, shock, etc in their pack. But they certainly might carry a spare chain or tube. Thru that lens I really like the idea of forcing use of only one fork and shock. It adds to the challenge of the racing puzzle.

Video: Hardline Track Walk with Gee Atherton and Rob Warner
@DavidGuerra: it’s definitely possible. It’s just scary as all heck when you have to. Can’t imagine doing that on such s monster feature. The way I’ve seen it done is compressing super hard on the takeoff so the bike gets more upward force but then push back against it with your unclipped foot while in the air. It comes out looking like an awkward scrub but it’s faster than not riding the feature at all.

The UCI Responds to Questions Over Brook Macdonald Evacuation Delays
@scvkurt03: I want to add to this from a different perspective. I’m very closely tied to local law enforcement, emergency medical, and rescue operations in our small town so I know how communications between agencies can dramatically slow down response time even under ideal conditions. In my eyes this failure comes down to an overly complex set of guidelines for the situation and blame falls equally in multiple directions. UCI being one of them. The contingency for who to call and when depending on the patients condition will naturally lead to unacceptably long wait times. These rules were written and enforced by some Canadian government entity, implemented by MSA and then approved by UCI. That being said, I half way agree with the above that the UCI is not directly to blame for this incident as it was not their system that failed. They should however, hold the systems they endorse to a higher standard, even if that means not holding a race in a particular country because their emergency management laws suck so bad.

Video: Wyn Masters Tackles the e-MTB World Championships
Don’t worry. The format will evolve over time as the technology grows and people start to figure out what these things really are. The GNCC Ebike races are proper technical, run on the same hare scramble tracks as the Motos and are getting a lot of attention because of it. Some pro moto guys have even transferred sports because of it. One of the top guys at the Ebike worlds came from that series! Just wait. This stuff will become legit sooner than later and you will be dying to give it a try.
