I lived all over the USA as a kid and never ran into a place where people ostracized kids for riding bikes and I grew up in the 80s. Unless you are way older or had some really weird family I can't imagine where this happened.

Check Out: Galfer's Shark Rotors, Leatt's Lightweight Full Face, & Giro's New Trail Shoes

I never bothered to pay extra for rotors as I am not that heavy and Sram rotors always worked well. Then I bought a bike with Galfer rotors and changed my mine. The initial bite in particular is what I valued.

Kali’s New Kru Full Face Helmet Has a Titanium Chin Bar, & It Looks... Different

@R-M-R: Doesn't make this invalid. Crashing into trees especially in the Northshore is incredibly likely and my full face has glazed the chin bar off them via the carbon shell in a way that definitely reduced impact. If that was designed like the Kali here it easily could have just snagged or caught on a branch and wrenched my neck to death. Being 100% serious here.

Review: Commencal Meta Power SX Avinox

@in2falling: I know a lot of guys on e bikes that absolutely shred DH. Some are local legends like Dylan Maples who is just trying to get more laps in and others are guys who just lobe hitting gnarly trails without riding half an hour to crush DH run in 3 minutes. Most of the people who can't ride aren't on the same rough trails the more serious riders hit.

Review: Commencal Meta Power SX Avinox

Problem is I love downhill not downcountry. Once you get fast there is no way you can get a good ratio of climbing to riding downhill trails. If you bomb a 4000ft run in 5min it is going to take you 30min to go back up on your 170/180mm bike. I don't have that kind of time. I still haven't bought an ebike but I understand why people do.

@noplacelikeloam: they may do that but realistically what I see on trails is a lot of older rich guys with low fitness and low skill riding up trails at 20mph. I like hiking out to remote lakes where you can't drive a truck with a massive cooler of beer. Mtb trails used to have the same level of work required that brought a certain level of respect. Now people who don't care and have little vested interest are on the same trails. Human nature being what it is means we value things less that we don't work for. Just the way it is.

@LeopoldStotch: 100%. Whistler is so much more fun on a V10. Can you ride it on an enduro or trail bike? Sure. Is it half as fast? Yeah and probably half as safe too. DH rigs are incredible at riding DH trails. Go figure.
