First Ride: Santa Cruz Megatower
@bohns1: I don't know if it counts because I have a SC Blur that has VPP but I have ridden all my biking friends new bikes when they come out and on normal non-bike park/shuttle trails there is very little difference. If I time a 45-60 minute ride all the bikes are within 1-2 minutes of each other as long as it is a similar bike. (obviously a 80mm xc bike and a 200mm dh bike will vary by a lot) It isn't just me either we bike swap almost every time someone gets a new bike and it doesn't change anyone by more than 1-2 minutes. I have never seen a guy get a new bike and start smoking everyone, ever. Maybe if your friend is on a Huffy.

Destination Showcase: Siskiyou, California
It isn't like getting lost in the inner city at night but there are definite issues that you don't see in most of the other bigger destinations. I have definitely run into a few shady characters. Some are clearly pretty drugged out, the others are looking for easy things to steal. Keep your stuff locked up at the trail heads and don't show too much in your vehicle. Then you can go ride and rip some really well built trails. Early spring or after the first rains in the fall are the best times otherwise the trails can get pretty dusty unless you are at the park.

Video: Danny MacAskill vs Danny MacAskill
The joy in Danny on his bike, it makes everyone of his video's likeable. He isn't acting, he is being Danny and how he has carried that over from the youtube days to one of the biggest names in biking is a classy move to me. Well played Danny.

Video: Danny MacAskill Rides in the Foulest Weather Imaginable
@igxqrrl: GoreTex gear works. I have spent days in the military in my GoreTex being dumped on for 16hrs each day and stayed dry. You need to make sure you get gear with taped seams. Even my GoreTex Pro jacket/pant from OR has kept me dry in normal wet weather though without the government forcing me to stand outside in rain for 16hrs a day I can't say I have tested it to the same level.

USWE Patriot 15 and Airborne 15 Backpacks – Review
My Camelback Mule is about 20years old now and even though I have like 5 other bags I still use the old school bag because it is so easy to grab and go with. I even use it on my dirt bike rides unless I am going to be out for several hours. I don't think you can really screw up a hydration pack unless you just can't sew or pick cheap material.

Photo Epic: Black Lung - Windham XC World Cup 2015
Our local trails have that dusty red clay that is mother natures baby powder and it is brutal. I used to not ride in the summer just to avoid it, now we just drop back a bit when we get too close together but not exactly a race strategy. I feel bad for the racers and wonder if later we will find that breathing micron sized dust particles while racing full out is bad for you.

Are we Misapplying Light Hands-Heavy Feet to MTB?
James belief in himself leads him to state his opinions as fact, which he no doubt believes are facts. Problem is when you state something as a fact and it isn't your audience now has to evaluate everything you say. If the audience is evaluating your statements it might as well just be written by the audience because the writer has no credibility.
