I've heard this argument before, and the issue I have is that rigidity exists. Why ignore something that exists and is inevitable?

Poll: What Would You Change About Bike Geometry?
@trialsracer:
Best way is in the Joy of Bike RAD video - lay down on your back with your feet on the pedals and holding the grips. Then extend your arms and legs and straighten your back so your hips are close to the stem ( like you're doing a full effort bunny hop).
If the grips are on at your first knuckles, that's neutral. On your fingers is minus. On your hands towards your wrist (or bent arms) is plus.
From minus: add spacers, longer stem, higher rise.
From plus: remove spacers, shorter stem, lowers rise.
Finn just said that a 2mm spacer makes a big difference for him.
I have a 1, 2, and 3mm spacer that I use to fine tune.
...works for me.
