Velo Digest: Cool Head Badges, Controversial 'Head Socks', Stem Sticker Nutrition Strategies, & More
@captainclunkz: your not grasping the problem. A Tacoma has a 900 lb payload. I have a 2000lbs camper when loaded with enough gear for a multi week adventure in the wilderness. That's 142.857stones for the socialists out there.

Haha I guess it's a difference in opinion. You say lack of tax and inspections I say perfect, keep your greedy government nose out my business. If I choose to drive a rusty old POS running on recycled oil or coal for all I care that's my choice. I lived in the UK for 18 years, the cost of owning a vehicle is astronomical. The roads are unbelievably congested and people still drive everywhere so I don't see it as a better system.

@captainclunkz: cost of maintenance is always a concern when you drive a truck around with 280000 miles on it. Also can't get a Hilux here, nore would it have the payload capacity I need for my adventures.

@captainclunkz: then I'd have to maintain a range rover which I've done before and is a nightmare. My 22 year old f250 has paid for it's self 100 times over. Parts are cheap and I can buy a ridiculous amount of fuel for the price of a range rover. Also it's not the same out here, the government doesn't tax and inspect cars off the road. Infact there's no vehicle or fuel emmison tests, which admittedly is terrible for the environment and safety but also buying new cars every 10 years and scrapping the old ones like most do in the UK is worse.

@CustardCountry: Yes and no... Yes there monstrositys and most people in the city don't need them. The situation isn't quite the same for a lot of rural people, I live in southern Colorado where high clearance and 4x4 is mandatory. You won't make it to the trailhead, campsite or really anywhere off the one main road that winds through the mountains in something like a Subaru or small SUV so a truck is required. There's almost no public transport to be spoken of outside of metropolitan areas and the place is huge. I think sometimes people forget you can fit the whole of the UK in Texas alone. For example for me to ride my bike in the winter it's 3.5 to 6 hours away at 65mph depending on weather. That being said I drive a Suzuki x90 any time I'm not leaving towb and it's fairly terrifying when a new f350 drives by.

@daceto817: just trying to see where people lie. Personally I don't think it's fair. I couldn't care less if about people's decisions on gender identity and I have absolutely no issue with people being trans but I personally draw the line at competitive sports. I think it's an unfair advantage much like doping
